CHICAGO, IL (October 9th, 2024): Blue Book, the leading provider of produce-specific credit and business information, today released a new feature to members: Credit Application Request.

Simplifying customer onboarding

In a survey done by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), 85 percent of companies find onboarding a new customer challenging.

In the same survey, approximately 40 percent say their onboarding process can take a week or more, and another 35 percent said that it can take up to 4 days.

What’s the correlation here?  Answer: It takes a lot of time and energy to onboard a new customer!

Here’s how it works

When a company contacts you for credit – let them know what you require and that your credit application process is handled by, and to expect a credit application request from Blue Book Services.

You can do this in two ways:

Go to BBOS – select Tools from the BBOS menu bar and click on “Credit Application Request.”  Then, key in the company and choose the person you want Blue Book Services to deliver our credit application to. 

Go to a company’s page – select “Credit Application Request” from the menu on the left, under “Services.”

Click “Submit” – it’s simple and takes less than 60 seconds!

By submitting, your customer prospect will receive an email from Blue Book Services introducing the credit application service and serves as your authorization for Blue Book Services to manage and gather the necessary credit decision-making detail.

Once the credit prospect completes the credit application, Blue Book Services will electronically connect with their references in an effort to capture those all-important trading experiences. If the electronic requests are not replied to, Blue Book Services will then attempt to communicate by phone to secure the facts.

Completion time and report delivery

Within 1-3 business days, Blue Book Services will have completed the process and delivered you a complete, best in class, credit application on your customer prospect containing vital business information, key company personnel and trade experiences from the company’s references. 

Every Blue Book member has a number of complimentary credit application requests, based on membership level.
