Three Ag Tech Ed Sessions Announced for Organic Grower Summit 2022

Monterey, CA — A trio of sessions focused on the ever-changing landscape of ag technology have been announced as part of the educational program for the upcoming Organic Grower Summit (OGS) 2022 presented by Western Growers BB #:144734 and OPN BB #:338018, slated for November 30–December 1 in Monterey, CA.

As technology and innovation continue to help organic growers produce crops in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible, OGS 2022 will highlight the companies at the forefront of ag tech and offer attendees a peek into what the future of ag technology may look like. The three educational sessions devoted exclusively to burgeoning ag tech await attendees:

The Latest in Ag Tech Equipment and Innovation— OGS attendees will explore the latest innovations from five of the most progressive ag tech and equipment companies on how new technologies are changing the face of organic growing around the world. From state-of-the-art tractors to weeding and spraying systems, these ag tech companies will share insight in how they are developing more efficient growing practices while promoting safe and sustainable food production.
The Future of Ag Tech—Expanding On-Farm Profitability— As input costs continue to rise, balancing sustainability and profitability can be enhanced by technology that can strategically apply fertilizer, pesticides, and water for maximum value. Attendees will hear about technologies currently available for growers, the cost implications, and what the future of ag tech may look like. Panelists for the session include Paul Mikesell, CEO and Founder of Carbon Robotics; Bart Walker, President of Pacific Ag Rentals; and Gabe Sibley, CEO and Founder of Verdant Robotics. The session will be moderated by Seana Day, Partner at Culterra Capital.

“Technological advances and data management continue to evolve for organic growers, and a wide array of new tools are being designed for greater efficiency in the production of crops. These exclusive ed sessions will highlight some of the newest technologies, equipment, and programs available for growers and how they can best be utilized in the ever-changing landscape of organic fresh produce production,” said Walt Duflock, vice president of innovation at Western Growers.

OGS 2022 will be held November 30–December 1 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa in Monterey, CA. The fifth annual Organic Grower Summit (OGS) is designed to provide information vital to organic growers and producers, including an overview of the opportunities and challenges in the production of organic fresh food.

OGS 2022 exhibition and general registration is currently open. OGS features exhibitors including soil amendment, ag tech, food safety, packaging, and equipment manufacturers who will have the opportunity to connect with organic field production staff, supply chain managers, pest management advisors, and food safety experts.
