Traditional agricultural shipments reached $845 million, reflecting an increase of 15.9 percent, while non-traditional shipments totaled $7.987 billion, reflecting an increase of 18.1 percent.
Last year, the main agro-industrial (non-traditional) exports were fresh grapes at $1.255 billion (+21.3%); fresh blueberries, $1.202 billion (+22.2%); fresh avocados, $1.049 billion (+38.7%); fresh or chilled asparagus, $404 million (+5.1%); fresh mangoes, $325 million (+15.2%); Others, $3.753 million (+12.9%).
Comex Peru reports that the main destination of Peruvian agricultural exports in 2021 was the U.S. totaling $2.941 billion, reflecting an increase of 10.9 percent, and concentrating 33 percent of total agro-exports.
The Netherlands followed with purchased from Peru for $1.305 billion, reflecting a growth of 20.9 percent and participated with 15 percent of the total.
Other important markets were Spain with $508 million (+11.4 percent) and represented 6 percent of the total, the UK with $393 million (+13.9 percent) representing 5 percent, Chile with $357 million (+63.7 percent) representing 4 percent, Germany with $292 million (+14.7 percent), and others with $2.991 billion (+22.1 percent).
