In the first half of the year, Peruvian exports of fresh or refrigerated asparagus by air reached 15,421 tons, reflecting a decrease of 20 percent when compared to the same period last year, as reported by Agraria.
The Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (Comex Peru) points out that these 15,421 tons represented 38 percent of the total Peruvian air exports (40,882 tons), positioning itself as the main product exported via air.
Fresh or refrigerated asparagus air shipments amounted to 3,564 tons in June, reflecting a drop of 7.4 percent when compared to same month last year. Fresh or refrigerated asparagus air shipments represented 53 percent of the total volume exported via air (6,740 tons).
Also exported by air in June were uncrushed or pulverized ginger with 393 tons, reflecting an increase of 330 percent, fresh blueberries with 111 tons reflecting a decrease of 50 percent, and fresh avocados with 105 tons reflecting an increase of 226 percent, among others.
