‘Facts, Not Fear’ media tour scheduled for September

alliance for food and farming media tour
AFF farm tour 2021.

The Alliance for Food and Farming (AFF) is excited to announce that the “Facts, Not Fear” Produce Safety Media Tour will take place from September 13 to September 16.

In 2021, the tour will move to the Northwest where AFF guests will see pear, apple, cherry and blueberry farms in the Hood River and Beaverton areas of Oregon.

The AFF has held these tours since 2017 to provide these nutrition communicators and social influencers a firsthand look at the care and commitment by farmers to grow safe and nutritious foods.

The 2021 tour guests are contributors to Food Network, Washington Post, Today’s Dietitian, Shape Magazine, U.S. News and World Report, Good Morning America, CNN, WebMD, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, Glamour, Health Magazine, LA Times and Prevention, among others.

The AFF’s list of tour guests include: Toby Amidor, Jenna Braddock, Cara Harbstreet, Meme Inge, Christine Rosenbloom, Elizabeth Ward, Dana White and Kathleen Zelman.

Many of our guests are also authors so the AFF is launching a social media contest on Facebook featuring a book giveaway to raise awareness about the tour and to share information about the influencers attending this event.

We extend our sincere thanks to the sponsors who are making this tour possible including, California Giant Berry Farms, California Table Grape Commission, First Fruits Marketing, Markon Cooperative, Northwest Horticultural Council, Pear Bureau Northwest, Produce Marketing Association, U.S. Apple Association, U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council and the Washington State Fruit Commission/Northwest Cherry Growers.

We often say we wish every consumer could see the diligent work of fruit and vegetable farmers and their commitment to food safety.

These tours provide the opportunity to share that work with influencers who reach thousands of consumers through their websites, blogs, books and social media channels. Each guest will communicate their on-farm experiences with their audiences during and after the tour.

So stay tuned for informational social posts and blogs from both our guests and the AFF in September.
