The USDA released the contract recipients for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) produce box program May 18.
USDA will fund 1,288,353 boxes totaling $9,708,057. It previously said it had a $20 million budget for the program.
Deliveries are scheduled for June 1 to Sept. 30. The box price ranges from $5.63-$82, and the average box price is $7.53.
Produce box contracts are as large as $1.9 million ranging to $3,948 on the low end.
Blue Book reached out to USDA for more information on the contracts but have not heard back as of May 19.
