The Eastern Produce Council’s annual New York Produce Show promises its unique combination of education and interaction in the busiest produce market in the country.
The event is anchored by the one-day trade show, December 12 at the Javits Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Organizers brag that it’s the second largest produce trade show in North America by attendees, with 5,000 expected to visit the 400 exhibitors.
Aside from that, the education program runs over several days and includes:
-Foundational Excellence (12/10): A Cornell University-led immersion program for executives with less than five years of industry experience. foundationalexcellence.com
-Global Trade Symposium (12/11): International produce traders gather to exchange ideas and hear about the opportunities, challenges and intricacies of import/export in an ever-changing world. globaltradesymposium.com
-Ideation Fresh Foodservice Forum (12/13): Foodservice Distributors, Operators and Vendors interact on the latest ways to increase produce consumption at restaurants and institutions. A networking and educational event. foodserviceforum.com
Additionally, December 12 starts with a thought leader panel breakfast at the New York Hilton, hosted by Jim Prevor, owner of Produce Business, co-host of the event. This panel hasn’t been announced but typically involves Eastern retail and foodservice leaders.
As usual, the Blue Book staff will attend and participate. I will be joined by our Vice President, Global Sales & Business Development Frank Sanchez at booth #301, so please stop by!
