US Foods Holding Corp., one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, today issued the following statement in response to a press release from Sachem Head Capital Management LP, which disclosed its attempt to seek control of the Board of Directors through the nomination of seven directors for election to the Company’s ten-member Board at its 2022 annual meeting.

US Foods Holding Corp. announced today plans to open two new US Foods CHEF’STORE locations in Visalia, Calif., and Lynchburg, Va.

With the addition of the two new stores, US Foods will have a total of 80 CHEF’STORE locations across the continental United States, providing quality wholesale and restaurant products at competitive prices.

The company believes its strong balance sheet will enable it to weather the economic impact of COVID-19 and has proactively drawn $1 billion under its existing revolving credit facilities to retain as cash on hand.
