GrubMarket says the expansion of the supply of fresh produce to Ukraine also signifies its support for the Ukrainian people to have continued access to fresh and healthy food, even under challenging circumstances.

The humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, and the precipitating unpredictable operating environment, have led McDonald's to conclude that continued ownership of the business in Russia is no longer tenable, nor is it consistent with McDonald's values.

What might happen going forward is still of course unknown. This is a fast moving situation. What seems for sure though, is that the resilience of the international supply chain is going to be tested like never before in recent memory.

The war in Ukraine continues to disrupt world produce markets in areas as far-flung as the Mediterranean and South America.
