International Fresh Produce Association has named Colleen Fagundus as the new director of floral.

IFPA is excited to announce nominations are now open for two prestigious award programs that recognize outstanding contributions from the front lines of the produce industry: The Retail Managers Awards and the Produce Excellence in Foodservice Awards. 

The International Fresh Produce Association has announced two recent additions that will complete the Food Safety team at the organization. 

IFPA kicked off 2025 by jumping into the newly announced 2025-2027 strategic plan which also included new leadership roles to best position IFPA and The Foundation in support of the upcoming work.

IFPA is proud to announce the appointment of its members -- Amanda Felder, organic integrity and environmental compliance manager at Taylor Farm , and Andrea Hatziyannis, category strategy manager at Sprouts Farmers Market -- to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Organic Standards Board (NOSB). 

International Fresh Produce Association has released the 2024 Annual Impact Report. The report shares highlights of the association’s work with and on behalf of the industry over the past year.

IFPA held the Climate Smart Field Day this month as a part of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Grant, bringing together experts, grant participants and more dedicated to advancing climate-smart practices across the industry.

USDA has announced the application window for a new $2 billion program designed to support specialty crop farmers. Applications open Dec. 10, 2024, and close on Jan. 8, 2025.

The International Fresh Produce Association commented on the release of the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee’s (DGAC) Scientific Report, a culmination of nearly two years of work, supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Building off the momentum from last month’s International Fresh Produce Association Global Produce & Floral Show where it was announced IFPA had been granted observer status to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the organization is pleased to share it will join U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and other agricultural leaders for a discussion on climate-smart agriculture during the COP29 Conference, November 11-22, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
