Despite a relatively slow hurricane season, tropical systems continue to wreak havoc. A Category 1 Hurricane-soaked Hawaii over the weekend, and the Southeastern U.S. is still coping with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Debbie.

Hurricane Debby made landfall early Monday morning as a Category 1 storm. The storm brought 6-10 feet of storm surge, heavy rain, and hurricane-force winds to the Big Bend of Florida’s Eastern Coast.

Pineapple Express takes aim at the West Coast. Among the widespread targets are oranges, green onions, lettuce, leafy greens, and strawberries.

Last week produce growers in Baja California and Nova Scotia scrambled to save their fruits and vegetables from Hurricane Kay (in Mexico) and remnants of Hurricane Fiona (in Canada).
