The company continues to expand this new service across its local towns and cities, highlighting its commitment to make grocery shopping easy, fresh and affordable.

The 62 stores will be converted to Food Lion stores, as part of the brand's continued expansion in the southeast of the U.S., and Food Lion expects to hire more than 4,650 associates to serve customers at the stores.

The stores will remain open as BI-LO and Harveys Supermarket until the transaction is complete, which is expected to take place over a staggered period from January to April 2021, pending regulatory approval and customary closing requirements.

Beginning Aug. 7, Food Lion Virginia customers with a Healthy Savings card will be able to save instantly at checkout on fresh produce, whole grains, lean meats, yogurts and other items.
