Argentina’s Senasa certified the first export of blueberries with quarantine treatment at origin, as more than 4,000 kg of fruit left a facility in Concordia, Entre Ríos province, destined for the U.S.

As the first shipments of blueberries are already leaving the country to non-traditional markets such as Israel and Indonesia, the Argentinean Blueberry Committee says growers are promoting its top attributes: tasty, sustainable, and responsible.

According to Senasa, during the first four months of 2021, the Rio Negro region exported 24,071 tons of apples, reflecting a 30 percent decrease when compared to the same period of last year and the lowest export volume of region’s history, as reported by Rio Negro.

Argentine pear and apple exports totaled 134,442 tons in the first quarter of 2021, 15 percent less than the same period the previous year.

The global pandemic couldn’t slow down Argentina’s fruit export growth.

Argentina, one of the largest exporters of pears and lemons in the world, has exported nearly 800,000 tons of fresh fruit in the first 10 months of this year.
