Peru should set a table grape export record this season.

The increased cost of ocean freight has led caused lower profit margins for Chilean fruit exporters, according to the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile and the Agricultural Society of Biobio (Socabio).

For the second consecutive year, grape exports have placed Peru as the second largest exporter of table grapes in the world, as reported by CGTN.

Between January and November of this year, Peruvian fresh onion exports reached 266,981,413 kilos with a value of $93,968,888, reflecting increases of 20.9 percent in volume and 12.3 percent in value over the same time last year.

Peru passed Vietnam to climb into fourth in global fresh mango exports, trailing Thailand at No.1, Mexico at No.2 and the Netherlands at No.3.

ASOEX has released a second Chilean cherry export estimate for the 2021-2022 season, now estimating that the volume exported this year will be 72,367,963 boxes, or 361,840 tons

According to SECEX (Foreign Trade Department), 2021 Brazilian fruit exports have already surpassed 2020 shipments in both volume and revenue.

In 2015/16 Peru exported 12,951 tons of blueberries, and five years later it exported 176,912 tons (through week 46), a whopping increase of over 1,266 percent.

In the first nine months of this year, Colombia exported 69,629 tons of Hass avocado, 35 percent more than the 51,565 tons exported during the same period last year.

According to a USDA report, Chile is set to produce 220,000 tons of avocados in the 2021-22 marketing year, reflecting a 57 percent increase over 140,000 tons during the 2020-21 marketing year.
