The USDA suspended the import authorization for mangoes from Haiti as of the end of January 2023.

From January to September 2022, Ecuadorian banana exports were at 256,590,000 boxes, reflecting a decrease of 8 percent when compared to the same period last year.

From the beginning of the campaign to date, Peruvian avocado exports have reached 559,000 tons, reflecting an increase of 8 percent compared to the 517,500 tons shipped in the same period the previous campaign.

According to the International Blueberry Organization’s (IBO) 2022 Global Blueberry Industry Status Report, global volumes of fresh and processed blueberries are approaching 1.8 million tons with China ranking as the world’s leading producer by volume, followed by the U.S., Peru, Chile, and Mexico. 

The Chilean 2022-23 avocado season began with an estimated production of 186,423 tons, representing a drop of 14.4 percent compared to the 217,000 tons the previous season.

Peru plans to export 71.5 million boxes of table grapes this season, representing an 11 percent growth when compared to the previous season, according to Agraria, using figures from the Association of Producers of Table Grapes of Peru (Provid).

During the first quarter of this year, blueberries positioned themselves as the most exported agricultural food in Mexico, producing more than 70,000 tons and representing 15 percent of Mexican berry exports.

In 2021, worldwide blueberry exports reached $4.76 billion, reflecting an increase of 21 percent compared to the $3.94 billion registered in 2020.

Peruvian agricultural exports are expected to reach $9.7 billion this year, an increase of almost 10 percent when compared to last year, according Agraria, using data from the Association of Agricultural Produces Guilds of Peru (AGAP).

According to the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH), banana exports in the first six months of 2022 totaled $293.4 million, reflecting an increase of $158.4 million when compared to the same period last year.
