Last season 53.9 percent of total Peruvian blueberry exports went to the U.S., reflecting a growth of 31 percent in volume, according to Blueberries Consulting.

In 2022, Mexican agricultural exports registered a new record with a value of $50.1 billion compared to the $44.7 billion in 2021, reflecting an increase of 12.2 percent, according to the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER).

Peruvian exports have grown steadily over the last two decades thanks to the joint and coordinated work of the public and private sectors. In 2022, Peru achieved a record US $63.193 billion in exports, up 3.7% from 2021.

In the fifth week of this Peruvian avocado campaign, there were a total of 2,093 tons exported, reflecting an increase of 47 percent compared to the same week last season.

The 2022 season for Chilean citrus was 32 percent lower than the previous season, making it the lowest in recent years.

Peru’s blueberry exports are expected to increase by 30 percent this season for a total of 287,00 tons with the U.S. being their main destination, the general manager of Proarandanos, Luis Miguel Vegas, told Agraria.

From January to November 2022, total Peruvian exports to the U.S. totaled $7.73 billion, reflecting an increase of 23.4 percent compared to the same period in 2021 and an increase of 39.3 percent compared to the same time period in 2020, according to Agraria, using Foreign Trade Society of Peru (ComexPeru) data.

In the first four months (October-January) of the Peruvian table grape campaign, exports reached 432 million kilos, representing a reduction of .5 percent compared to the same period the previous campaign, said Fernando Cilloniz Benavides, president of Inform@ccion.
