CPMA offers resources for tariff dispute

canada

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association BB #:153602 alerted its members March 4 that it will continue to monitor the tariff situation between the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to the Canada-U.S. Produce Trade page on its website, CPMA shared two websites with details on the tariffs that Canada announced in retaliation to the U.S. tariffs.

“We are actively engaged with the Government of Canada regarding the anticipated impacts for the fresh produce industry and Canada’s response to the U.S. actions,” CPMA said. “Given the interdependency and integration of the fresh produce supply chain, we will also continue to work with our colleagues in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico to ensure a common understanding of impacts across North America.”

“CPMA remains focused on emphasizing the importance and benefits of free and fair trade for all three economies and advocating for a tariff-free outcome for the sector. We will continue to provide further details and information to support our members as this situation progresses.”

CPMA president Ron Lemaire posted a column on LinkedIn providing more detail from the Canadian perspective.
