In 2024, total Peruvian exports (traditional + non-traditional) amounted to $74.66 billion, reflecting an increase of 15.5 percent compared to the $64.62 billion reported in 2023, according to Agraria, citing figures from the Global Economics and Business Research Center of the Association of Exporters (CIEN-ADEX).

This growth is due to the higher prices of minerals, mainly gold, copper and silver; as well as the higher price of cocoa; and by the higher volumes shipped of blueberries, grapes, mangos, asparagus, and cocoa beans.

Although the performance is positive, the president of ADEX, Julio Pérez Alván said only 4 of the 14 sectors achieved historic amounts: mining, agroindustry, iron and steel, and metalworking.

According to its Export Report – December 2024, last year, traditional shipments totaled $54.1 billion, experiencing an increase of 17.2 percent compared to the previous year. In addition, this sector participated with 72.4 percent of the total.

In this sector, its four activities showed positive performance: with agriculture amounting to $1.23 billion (+26.8 percent).

Meanwhile, non-traditional exports reached $20.57 billion, showing an increase of 11.3 percent compared to 2023 and concentrated 27.6 percent of the total.

The report indicated that 6 of the 10 activities in the non-traditional sector shared a positive result, one of them being agroindustry with $11.2 billion (+21.3 percent).

The foreign trade association highlighted that total Peruvian agricultural exports (traditional + non-traditional) amounted to $12.42 billion, reflecting an increase of +21.8 percent compared to what was reported in 2023.

Traditional agricultural shipments reached $1.23 billion (+26.8 percent), and agricultural and/or agro-industrial shipments (non-traditional) totaled $11.2 billion (+21.3 percent).

The item that stood out by FOB amount was blueberries with $2.27 billion, showing an increase of +36 percent (the volume shipped increased 57.6 percent). Other leaders were grapes, avocados, cocoa beans, coffee, asparagus, mangoes, and mandarins, among others.
