In the United States, shipments were down 27 percent in week 52, with Mexico contributing 94 percent of the total. Prices for large sizes peaked at $72.50 per 25-pound box, an unusually strong price for that time, according to Avobook.

In Europe, shipments were also down 21 percent, led by Israel and Colombia, while prices remained stable for small sizes but fell 10 percent for large sizes. In China, imports fell 24 percent from the previous week, with the expectation of a recovery in the coming weeks.

Finally, Chile closed the week with a 27 percent drop in weekly shipments, although it achieved significant annual growth of 93 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

The details of all the data on the global avocado market can be found in the Avobook Report for the first week of 2025.
