NASHVILLE, TN – I’ve been to Nashville a few times and usually find myself at national or regional players like Kroger, Dollar General, and Publix, but this time I found a hidden gem: The Turnip Truck.
I stopped by just after leaving the airport, shortly before lunch time. This store doesn’t try to be everything for everyone, and I liked that. It had a small footprint with a carefully curated selection of high quality produce. There were large displays of local features, like heirloom tomatoes, and celebrations of the last-of-the-season stone fruit.
There was a decent selection of in-house value-added items like cut fruit and guacamole, and the gal at the fresh juice counter convinced me to buy one of her freshly-made immunity shots. (Stay tuned to the end of the video for my reaction on that one. Yikes!)
I love a store like this, where I feel like everything on the shelves feels like it was an intentional choice, and I’m sure their customers do, too.
