Lancaster, Pennsylvania — 09/22/24 — Hess Brothers Fruit Company’s BB #:103882 recent addition of solar panels to the roof of its packing facility will lead to 35% of needed energy being generated on-site and off-grid.
“We are proud to be making this investment in long-term, sustainable energy,” said Zach King, Co-Owner and VP of Operations, “not only to impactfully reduce our carbon footprint, but to reinforce that Hess Brothers Fruit Company believes in the future of our team, our community and our planet.”
The project was handled entirely by PA-based Paradise Energy Solutions, whose team allowed Hess to continue apple packing operations throughout the entire installation.
“The team at Paradise Energy Solutions is grateful for the opportunity to help Hess Brothers invest in their company’s financial and environmental sustainability,” said Brian Foltz, Solar Energy Consultant, “Their commitment to positively impacting our community was evident throughout the entire process of working with them.”
Founded in 1962, Hess Brothers Fruit Company is a third generation, family-owned packer/marketer of premium fresh apples.
“Our grower partners have been great stewards of their land for generations,” said King, “This was an opportunity to show them that we are equally committed to ensuring the long-term future of healthy, fresh, great-tasting food.”
