In June 2024, Peruvian avocado exports reached $230.4 million for 117,963 tons, which meant an increase of 28 percent in value, but a fall of 4 percent in volume, compared to what was recorded in June last year, according to Agraria.

This result was obtained thanks to the 34 percent increase in the average product price, which was at $1.95 per kilogram.

As for destinations, countries such as Guatemala, Mexico or Sweden came to join this month. But those who occupied the podium were the Netherlands, with 27 percent participation; followed by the U.S., with 25 percent; and Spain, with 17 percent.

Towards the Dutch market, Peruvian avocado exports added 31,737 tons for $63 million. While the volume remained at the same level as last year, the value was 43 percent higher. This was a reflection of the price increase to the same extent, reaching $1.98 per kilogram.

The remittances towards the U.S. market, meanwhile, added 27,038 tons for $57.3 million. This was 13 percent more in volume and 37 percent more in value, with an average price that was increased by 21 percent, when quoting at $2.12 per kilogram, one of the highest obtained by the Peruvian product in the world.

Finally, the Spanish market was the highest growth. With 21,047 tons acquired at a value of $39 million, it registered a growth of 20 percent in volume and 66 percent in value, accompanied by an average increase of 38 percent, to be at $1.85 per kilogram.
