philadelphia wholesale produce market
To participate, interested parties must submit their information and documentation through the PWPM’s website.

The nation’s only fully-enclosed, fully-refrigerated wholesale produce marketplace has space available for lease. Opened in 2011, the 700,000 square foot facility boasts a bright shopping concourse that draws people from around the globe to marvel at a wholesale produce market that hits all the marks – easy loading and unloading, cold chain protection, temperature control, safety, security, and innovative waste management.

Philadelphia has been a thriving produce scene since colonial days. Originally situated on Dock Street along the Delaware River, local fruit and vegetable merchants took advantage of their proximity to nearby farms, a densely populated area, and easy access in and out of the city.

Today, the PWPM BB #:296053 still reaps the benefits of the facility’s location. Being only minutes from the both I-95 and I-76 gives direct access to customers across the mid-Atlantic region. With access to highways, railways, Philadelphia International Airport, and Philaport, the PWPM is an integral part of the world’s supply chain for fresh fruits and vegetables. The 17 wholesalers who make up PWPM have long-established relationships with growers and customers worldwide and our state-of-the-art facility is an established industry leader in conducting business with ease, safety, cleanliness, and ensuring product longevity.

PWPM is operated by RPCC, a non-profit cooperative corporation which is owned by seventeen (17) wholesale produce companies who have come together to operate under one roof. Most of the companies of the RPCC are family owned and have been in business in Philadelphia for several generations.

Becoming part of RPCC and selling your products at the PWPM’s best-in-class facility is a long-term commitment. Once you are part of the cooperative you are not just renting space, you become a shareholder.

As a shareholder, you will have a voice in how the overall PWPM is operated and you’re eligible to be elected to our board of directors. You can help shape the future of the market with your input and influence, ensuring the best possible environment for your business.

Located at 6700 Essington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, three units are available and are offered together or separately and include the following:

  • 4,050sq/ft. per unit which includes front sales and rear utility areas.
