It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Michael Kamphaus who has served as the President & CEO of Peirone Produce Company BB #:113475 for the past nine years. Michael will retire this fall.
Under his stewardship, since June of 2014, Peirone has continued to prosper and has grown into the largest distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables to independent grocers in the Inland Northwest.
Michael, with over 40+ years in various leadership roles in the produce industry, developed many long-term marketing strategies while supporting operation plans to secure the success of the companies he served.
This experience along with Michael’s innovative ideas were used to successfully grow Peirone Produce. An example of this is the implementing of Peirone’s Loyalty Rebate and Taste Local programs which have grown the company’s sales over 140% in nine-years!
Michael’s accomplishments have helped set a solid foundation for Peirone’s future while maintaining a spirit of world-class customer service and continuing to provide the freshest produce to the communities of the Inland Northwest.
As a strong proponent of community and service, while in Spokane, Mike served on the board for Red Cross of the Greater Inland Northwest and served as an Honorary Commander at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington.
Ray Sprinkle, CEO of parent Company, URM Stores, Inc., stated, “I’d like to thank Mike for his invaluable leadership through strategic planning, a commitment to excellence, and the significant value he brought URM, Peirone Produce, and to the customers we serve.”
To foster an overlap and transition period, URM Stores, Inc. will begin the search for his replacement immediately.
