Washington D.C. and Newark, De. – International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) BB #:378962 is hosting its annual Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference April 16-18 in Orlando this year. The Conference is sold out but there are many additional opportunities for the industry to support and participate in Women’s Fresh Perspective (WFP) Portfolio experiences this year.
“The draw of the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference is not just the personal and professional development, but the opportunity to connect with women across the entire produce and floral industry,” said Brenda Necic, key account manager at Pure Flavor and co-chair of the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Committee. “The broader our networks, the wider our source of ideas, solutions, and support. This event is a keystone for the industry’s work to create a more diverse and inclusive industry where everyone feels they belong.”
The Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference is just one way members of the industry can participate and engage with the WFP portfolio which is central to IFPA’s DEI strategy. Members of the industry can also mark their calendars to participate in the following:
- The Women’s Fresh Perspectives Reception at Foodservice Conference in Monterey. Registered attendees of the Foodservice Conference can add this reception to their registration and connect with all who support the WFP portfolio and DEI initiatives.
- The Women’s Fresh Perspectives Breakfast at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show. While the speaker will be announced soon, attendees can register to attend the breakfast where the winner of the Frieda Caplan Women’s Catalyst Award will also be celebrated.
- At this year’s Southern Africa Conference held August 2-3 in Cape Town, South Africa there will be a Women’s Breakfast to bring together women across the region to network and build on the value of the conference.
- Next year’s Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference. Whether you’d like to attend or think that the conference would be a great fit for one of your team members, those interested should mark their calendars for April 7-9 2024.
“Participating in the Conference is an excellent development opportunity for women in the industry,” said Kristin Wells, director of business development at Food Lion. “It is also a great way for companies to invest in their teams and in the industry as a whole. Knowing that this event is sold out is a great sign of investment from leaders and companies in creating an inclusive industry.”
Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida from April 16-18. The schedule is posted and details the speakers and sessions that will be covered for all attendees. Information about how to register for future events can be found on the IFPA website.
About the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA)
The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) is the largest and most diverse international association serving the entire fresh produce and floral supply chain and the only to seamlessly integrate world-facing advocacy and industry-facing support. We exist to bring the industry together to create a vibrant future for all. We grow our member’s prosperity by conducting advocacy; connecting people and ideas; and offering guidance that allows us all to take action with purpose and confidence. While IFPA is built on the legacy of United Fresh and Produce Marketing Association, it is not just a combination. It is transformational. Recognizing the industry required an even more powerful and unified voice, the leaders of the former United Fresh and Produce Marketing Association chose not to merge, but rather to create an entirely new organization to supersede their organizations, effective January 1, 2022.
