Peruvian agricultural exports totaled $6.8 billion between January and September of this year, reflecting an increase of 19 percent compared to last year, while traditional shipments alone totaled $908 million reflecting an increase of 122.6 percent, as reported by Agraria, using figures from the Foreign Trade Society of Peru (Comex).
Agricultural and/or agro-industrial products (non-traditional)
According to Comex Peru, the main agricultural products shipped from January to September 2022 were fresh avocados for $912 million (-9.4%); fresh blueberries, $772 million (+30.2%); fresh grapes, $594 million (+12.9%); fresh or chilled asparagus, $240 million (-11.2%); and fresh mangoes, $207 million.
The largest destinations were the U.S. with $2.044 billion (+19.4%), 35% of the total; The Netherlands, $878 million (-3.7%), 15% of the total; Spain, $375 million (-2.6%), 6% of the total; Ecuador, $300 million (+45.9%), 5% of the total; Chile, $274 million (-1.5%), 5% of the total; and China, $258 million (+66.3%).
