SAN FRANCISCO—While many areas of the country are suffering storms they’d rather not see this time of year, the United Fresh Produce Association’s fourth annual Brandstorm marketing conference is celebrating record attendance.
This year’s event marks its fourth outing in San Francisco, after moving from November to February this year. It suffered no slide in attendance, said Mary Coppola, Vice President, Marketing & Communications for the Washington, D.C.-based organization.
In the first year, the event hosted about 130 attendees. Each year has shown a jump, with this year’s attendance at around 270.
The event fulfills a need in produce that wasn’t being realized at traditional conferences, Coppola said.
“There was a need for fresh produce communicators to come together to talk strategy, trends and ideas,” she said.
