ORLANDO—Freshfields Farm accomplishes a lot in a small space.
The 45-year-old retailer, which focuses primarily on meat and produce, has about 4,000 square feet dedicated to fresh produce at its Orlando location, says Earl McGrath, director of produce operations.
McGrath said at any given time, the company carries about 200 items in produce, a mix of bulk and in-house fresh-cut, with about 40 from local growers.
While the company has had a long history on the Orlando retail scene, it’s only been about five years since the company’s second store in Jacksonville was opened, bringing total employee count to just over 200 across both locations.
“High quality, fresh, great tasting produce is in demand as much or more than ever,” McGrath said. “There is a great opportunity for those that can provide fresh product to their customers.”
